U.S. Army Communications Training
The She Center Conducts Leadership Training for the U.S. Army

The She Center has the honor of conducting in-person leadership development training for the U.S. Army. This past July, 23 2024 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Lydia Knight, CEO of The She Center and professional trainer, led a workshop for the currently stationed brigade with new tools for them to strengthen communication and foster greater harmony within their personal and professional relationships. This collaboration with the U.S. Army was a powerful moment for both our team and the leaders at Fort Sill who took part, showcasing the commitment of the U.S. Army to developing resilient, adaptive leaders.
We extend our sincere gratitude to W LTC Daniel McManus, Eli McManus, and Sergeant First Class Tara Haywood for their support in coordinating this training and making it a resounding success. Their kindness, acknowledgment, and enthusiasm for our work made this experience truly special, underscoring their dedication to advancing leadership excellence within their brigade.
Empowering Leaders Through the “HERS” Communication Framework

The training centered on The She Center’s HERS Communication Framework, a powerful tool designed to help leaders improve cooperation and create harmony in any relationship. Each participant developed a custom framework for a specific person in their life, enhancing communication and alignment within that relationship. For this brigade—which includes special operations members, drill sergeants, and other leaders—such skills are invaluable in fostering respect, trust, and unity.
The workshop included both male and female members of the brigade, with representation at approximately 75% men and 25% women. We were impressed by the openness, respect, and commitment these leaders showed in communicating across ranks and roles. Their focus on empowering female leaders was especially inspiring; Fort Sill has a specific women’s mentorship group dedicated to supporting female brigade members and building a culture of inclusive, balanced leadership.
A Community of Support and Recognition
One of the most remarkable aspects of our work with the U.S. Army is witnessing the strong sense of community and support. Brigade leaders have showed an evident dedication to getting to know each member personally, listening to their insights, and working toward meaningful changes that would benefit the entire brigade. This culture of individual recognition, mutual respect, and mentorship could serve as a model for communities and organizations nationwide.
As a token of appreciation, the brigade presented Lydia Knight with a certificate of appreciation and two medals in recognition of her contributions and the impact of the training. This acknowledgment was a deeply meaningful reminder of the shared commitment between The She Center, the U.S. Army represented by the leaders at Fort Sill to cultivate resilience, connection, and purpose-driven leadership.
Looking Ahead

We are proud to collaborate with the U.S. Army’s dedicated leaders, and we look forward to seeing the positive ripple effects of this training as these leaders put their newly developed frameworks into action. Received feedback has highlighted that the principles taught have proven to be highly valuable. The commitment of Fort Sill’s leaders to fostering growth, community, and respect serves as an inspiring example of what’s possible when leaders are empowered to lead with compassion and strength.
